*Nefison (Mag x Nefisa)

*Nefison is the product of straight Russian breeding that is proven in the show ring and treasured in breeding barns around the globe. His sire *Mag, bred at Tersk in Russia, was a Dutch and French National Champion and has been a significant sire in Europe and North America. Besides being an outstanding show horse and sire in his own right, *Mag’s full siblings include 1981 US National Champion Stallion *Marsianin, Russian race-winner Mig, and the significant broodmare Mexica. *Nefison’s dam line is unparalleled. He traces in tail female to the “Treasure of Tersk” Mammona through her granddaughter Neposeda, acknowledged as the “Queen of Tersk” and dam of 10 foals graded elite in the Russian stud books. Neposeda’s daughter Nefisa is dam not only of *Nefison, but of the stallions *Othelloo and *Pattrone, both noted sires in the US, and of *Nanna, dam of the multi-champion stallions and outstanding producers Neposzar and Marykov. The number of quality straight Russian stallions that have been produced by Nefisa and her daughter *Nanna is incredible, and *Nefison is no exception to his illustrious dam line.

*Nefison, born at the Kossack Stud in Holland, was imported in 1983 and had a show record in Halter, English Pleasure, and Pleasure Driving before breaking his right foreleg. In 1985 he stood as a Lasma Three Star Stallion at a fee of $5000. He has produced a Regional Reserve Champion Sport Horse In-Hand along with successful competitors in Halter, Hunter Pleasure, Reining, Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, and Country English Pleasure. *Nefison's offspring have themselves produced two Sport Horse National Top 10 Mares as well as horses competing successfully at the Regional, Class A and/or open levels in Sport Horse In-Hand and Under Saddle, Hunter Pleasure, Halter, Dressage and Country Pleasure Driving.
